Materials
Materra Studio develops rare natural materials and bespoke elements for hospitality, yacht, villa and larger luxury residential projects. We work with selected stone, quartz, semiprecious materials, brass, copper and architectural thermowood, developing project-specific solutions in custom dimensions, finishes, colours and configurations where standard catalogue products are not enough.
Stone Surfaces
Onyx, marble, travertine, fossil marble containing genuine fossils millions of years old, and other selected natural stones for floors, walls, fireplace mantels, staircases, decorative columns and pillars, coffee tables, console tables, feature pieces, spas and other bespoke interior or architectural elements — available in custom dimensions, finishes and project quantities.
Carved Stone Panels
Custom carved onyx, marble and selected stone panels for bathrooms, spas, feature walls and luxury interiors. Each piece is precisely cut by CNC and then individually hand-carved and finished to create depth, refined relief and a more natural, expressive surface. Patterns, dimensions, relief depth and finishes can be developed for each project, making every installation unique. Backlit solutions are available for suitable translucent stones, together with other bespoke applications where technically feasible.
Quartz Surfaces
Solid natural quartz floor and wall tiles, panels and custom elements in selected varieties — a rare material category, as most quartz surfaces on the market are engineered, resin-bound or epoxy-based rather than cut from solid natural quartz. Each piece offers genuine mineral depth, translucency and natural variation, with reinforcement mesh available where required for handling and installation. Suitable varieties can also be developed for backlit feature walls, bathrooms, spas, counters and other bespoke architectural applications.
Semiprecious & Rock Crystal
Rock crystal and a wide selection of semiprecious stones for wall panels, lightweight honeycomb-backed panels for yachts and weight-sensitive interiors, tables, furniture, cabinet knobs, handles, bowls, vases, accessories, decorative objects, sculptural pieces and other bespoke interior elements. Complete pieces can be developed with custom brass, copper or timber bases, legs and structural details.
Brass & Copper Details
Custom brass and copper details, hardware, accessories, mirrors, frames, handles, door knobs, towel holders, cabinet fittings, furniture components, bowls, decorative objects, hoods, canopies, sculptural wall panels and dimensional metal cladding. Small and large-scale bespoke elements can be developed from drawings, references or project requirements in custom patterns, sizes and forms. A wide range of brushed, polished, hammered, aged, oxidised and patinated finishes is available, creating extensive possibilities in colour, texture and character for each project.
Architectural Thermowood
Thermo Ayous, Fraké, Radiata Pine and Nordic Pine for wall and ceiling cladding, custom 3D wood panels, long slatted ceiling systems, room dividers, saunas, decking, fences and other refined architectural details. In addition to conventional profiles and project-specific wood elements, we develop full-length solid Thermowood slat wall and ceiling systems using continuous, non-finger-jointed timber strips. This preserves the natural grain along the full length of each slat and creates a cleaner, more refined appearance than systems assembled from shorter joined sections. Slat width, depth, spacing, module size and layout can be developed according to the project. Surfaces can be brushed, stained and finished in custom tones, with modules produced on rigid backing systems for consistent spacing and strong architectural depth. Thermowood offers improved dimensional stability, durability and reduced movement compared with untreated timber, making it particularly well suited to hospitality, spa, wellness, yacht and luxury residential interiors. For hospitality and commercial applications, fire-retardant treatment with supporting certified fire-performance documentation is also available on a project-specific basis. Available in custom dimensions, profiles, patterns, colours, finishes and configurations according to project requirements.
Beyond the Catalogue
The materials, finishes and applications shown here represent selected capabilities and design directions rather than a fixed catalogue. Our international material network includes a broad and continuously developing selection of marble, onyx, quartzite, travertine, solid quartz, semiprecious stones, architectural thermowood, brass, copper and other distinctive natural materials. Clients are welcome to enquire about any of the materials, products or applications shown above, as well as related custom ideas not yet presented on the website. We can discuss technical feasibility, suitable materials, dimensions, finishes, quantities, production methods and project-specific details, and develop an appropriate solution wherever possible. Materra Studio works primarily on a project and trade basis, supporting larger residential, hospitality, yacht, spa, fit-out and architectural projects with custom development, project quantities and international supply. For larger orders, materials and products can be adapted to drawings, references, BOQ requirements and project schedules.
Studio
Materra Studio is a project-based materials studio by Freewind, built on more than 15 years of experience working with natural stone, semiprecious materials, brass, copper and architectural wood.
Over the years, we have developed a trusted network of specialist manufacturers across several production regions. Each partner is selected for their material knowledge, craftsmanship and ability to produce custom project work. Together, we develop and manufacture project-ready interior and architectural elements from carefully selected materials.
We work primarily with designers, architects, developers and procurement teams on hospitality, resort, spa, yacht, villa and larger luxury residential projects. Projects are developed based on concepts, references, dimensions, material direction and required finishes. Each request is reviewed individually according to the possibilities of the material, production method, quantity and project schedule.
If you have an idea involving natural stone, semiprecious materials, brass, copper or architectural wood, send us the concept, reference or project requirements. We will review it with our production partners and, where technically feasible, propose a suitable material and production solution.
Process
Each project begins with the material, application, scale and desired visual result. We review the concept, references, dimensions, quantities, required finishes and project schedule to understand what can be produced realistically.
Once the direction is clear, we coordinate suitable materials and production with the relevant specialist partner. Samples, finish options, technical details and pricing are prepared according to the needs and stage of the project.
After approval, production is coordinated through to quality checks, packing and international delivery. Where useful, we provide images and videos of the completed pieces before dispatch, helping confirm that the final result matches the approved material, finish and project requirements. We also coordinate worldwide logistics, including door-to-door delivery and customs clearance support where required, with timing and documentation aligned to the project schedule wherever possible.
